IRC chats among ourselves

There has been some discussion about doing some IRC chats among ourselves (but David Peterson is always welcome to join us!). So, rather than clutter up the 'IRC with DP thread', I started this one so that we can freely discuss this topic and get some chats organized.

Just so that it is said: Having special meetup times does not mean that the channel will not be there the other times and days. You might always meet people there.

Weekdays were preferred. I think mondays might work fine. Evening in general and 8pm PST in particular was mentioned. 8pm PST is 6am for me and 5am for ingsve and the most of the western Europe. Presently I sadly sometimes am still awake at that hour, but it is slightly uncomfortably late (or early) for Europe. I think from midnight to roundabout 3am sector is more reasonably doable. For PST people that would mean... well... rather early evening, 4pm or 5pm perhaps?

5 PM PST is about the earliest I could do anything on a weekday. Right now, it is daylight savings time, so 5 PM PDT is 4 PM PST. This would help Qvaak, and might really help Insgive.  6 PM PDT, which is currently 5 PM PST is more realistic, and I bet is more realistic for Daenerys as well. It will be interesting to see what she has to say.

Not really. The daylight saving system is widely implemented. The Europe and USA are the same amount apart throughout the year, barring a few states (Arizona, Hawaii) and countries (Russia, Iceland) not implementing the DST and a few weeks due to different changing times.

Qvaak, Interesting to know that. I was not aware that anyone else used that crazy system.

I guess the best consensus we have here is 5 PM PT. That would be 2 AM for Insgive and 3 AM for Qvaak. Any day, Monday through Thursday next week works for me, as long as I know a day or so in advance.

Usually for me, the best days right now would be Monday and Thursday and maybe Wednesday, at those times. This week only Thursday (PST) since this is my b-day week, I have a bit more things going on.

Other than being a bit short-notice, Thursday would work for me. Next Monday is out (which is unusual for me), but Wednesday is a good day.

What do others think?

How about next Wednesday, since no one wrote back about Thursday? Tomorrow, (Thursday PST), is actually my b-day. Oops! Though hanging out with all of you would have been a plus.

Sorry, everyone who might have tried to participate in this chat. I had a dickens of a time getting an IRC client to work on my netbook. Once I got one working, it failed in trying to connect. It is 5:27 now, and I am giving up until I can try this at home in a couple of hours.
