News:

David Peterson's new book on language creation is now available online or at your favorite bookseller. I suspect this book will become a classic on the subject of language creation!

Hey guys, I'm writing a fan story of Ice and Fire, and I hope that you can help me translate the title of a book into Valyrian.  It's called: A History of Valyria From the Founding of the City/Freehold to the Doom, essentially their version of Livy's Ab Urbe Condita.  Any help would be extremely welcome!

Hi Aemon,
there is a lot of vocabulary which we don't know yet, such as words for "history", "founding", "freehold" and "doom". The words for "doom" and "freehold" I have myself asked David J. Peterson about, but at the time he couldn't give me an answer. The following means something like "A statement about Valyria from the city's creation to the end": Valyrio bē vestretir hen oktio mazvēttīr va kelitīr. You probably want to ask DJP himself about this, since I formed two "new" nouns form verbs in this sentence, and I am not wholly clear on their meaning. Best of luck with your story!
