Beginners / 'ȳdragon' - 'to speak'
« on: June 24, 2014, 05:56:17 pm »

I'm slightly confused:

1. According to wikipedia

'Quptenkos Ēngoso ȳdrassis?' stands for 'Do you speak the Common tongue?'.

So I found out "ȳdrassis" is the Aorist form, 3rd person singular of ȳdragon. But WHY?
'Do you speak..' would be 'ȳdrā', wouldn't it?

2. Another one with 'ȳdragon', according toȳhon-keliton-issa/ would be:

'Ydra ji Valyre?' - 'You speak Valyrian?'

What does "ji" stand for? I can't find it anywhere:/

'J’aspo' means 'bitch', right?

As in:
J’aspo eza zya azantyr. - The bitch has her army.

Ivetra j’aspo zya dyni do majis. - Tell the bitch her beast won’t come.

do you know more swear words?

Beginners / Valyrian Course Online
« on: June 21, 2014, 04:23:25 am »

I've started to create a course to learn High Valyrian online, you can find it here:

As I have just started to learn High Valyrian myself, I'd be happy if someone wants to help me improve it (especially concerning pronounciation and/or grammar),
gladly I would grant him/her full edit access on the course. :)

Beginners / 'to be' - sagon VS. 'to be (somewhere)' - ilagon
« on: June 21, 2014, 04:16:35 am »

According to

"they are" = "ilzi", as in
"Skoriot ñuhyz zaldrīzesse ilzi?" - "Where are my dragons"

According to the wiki source

3pl present of 'sagon' = "issi"

Where's the mistake or is "ilzi" some special form of sagon I don't know about?

Thanks a lot.
