News:

David Peterson's new book on language creation is now available online or at your favorite bookseller. I suspect this book will become a classic on the subject of language creation!

Beginners / Personal Update
May 20, 2016, 09:36:35 AM
So I've been diving into it fairly hard for the past week trying to build my vocabulary through Memrise and I've added about 90 words to memory

On top of that I know most of the phrases that the living language book has to teach, so I'd say I'm sitting on a solid first week of learning

For the next week I'm going to keep on with vocabulary building and reviewing grammar to start getting that in my head

Nullus out!

I searched around the incubator on Duolingo and didn't see anything

Maybe I'm just not looking in the right spot, or just not familiar enough with the website

Either way gonna keep up with it here and if I see anything I'll be glad to lend a hand

I might be making an assumption here, but I'm liking this little back and forth we've got going on with Memrise! It's a little motivating to keep gunning for the top spot

I'll have to go check out duo lingo to see if there's anything I can do. Not sure I can really translate anything right now, but hopefully that will change here in the future.

Hahaha something tells me that the Valyrian speakers aren't going to be in such a good position in the future either my friend!

Once I get a good footing in the Dothraki camp I would love to get a hand in the Valyrian world! Right now I'm going through the basic Dothraki course that's on Memrise; I'm about 80 words into it, and that's after 4days. So give it a week and I might actually be able to say things that make a little sense!

This is really the first language that I've sat down to memorise vocabulary for, and I'm really surprised at how fast you can add up the words when you do it on a daily basis.

I know your post is a little old, but I hope that you're still pursuing the language, it seems to me that the forums could really use a jump start and luckily enough we've just had some new members  join so we have a chance to breath some life into our fading community!

Glad to see that there are still people joining the forums, I was afraid I might have wandered into a ghost site, which would have been a massive shame. I look forward to learning alongside my fellow beginners.

M'athchomaroon!

I've just recently started my efforts into learning the Dothraki tounge and I'm currently putting my efforts into expanding my vocabulary using the course that's on Memrise. I'm hoping to be able to get some Tarzan speak going on by next month at least, and I pretty much have all the basic expressions from DJP's book so that's a plus! I look forward to speaking with all the motivated and outstanding people on this forum.

I'm going to assume that this didn't get off the ground, which would be a shame. If there is anything a beginner could do to help I would love to. I don't have a large vocabulary yet, but I'd like to think my pronunciation is pretty top notch!

I would really love to see this happen, I was never really interested in the nuances of language until I found our about Dothraki so this would be an amazing thing to see come to fruition
