News:

The Dothraki and Valyrian forums has been receiving an unprecedented level of spam as of late. I am doing my best to stay on top of it (in my experience, these go away in time). If you catch a suspicious post that I missed, mark it as spam, or PM me about it - Hrakkar

Thank you. These have now been fixed.

And nice to hear from you again KoErin.
Glad to hear, ingsve! It's been a while. Updating the portuguese translation...

A small clarification: alikh (more) is, indeed, a ni., as stated by the dictionary?

Yes, all words formed with that ending -(i)kh (resultative) are inanimate.

So, I'm not very sure on how I should translate "alikh".  It says "more" in the dictionary. Does it means more like in the sentence I want more food? Wouldn't it be an adverb? (in Portuguese, it is). Or does this more refers to an obsolete meaning of the word, like "carrot, root or parsnip"?

There's a small correction to the extra info of the word khalasar in the dictionary. It shows a horde loyal to a single
kahl
, it should be khal instead.

The same happens with khalakki (daughter of kahl) and khaleesi (queen, wife of a kahl).

I tried to guess what is what in the second Dothraki relay from the LCC4. Here are my guesses.
https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0ArbW3bU0qmBydHUySTNzM1J1cmVrR3B3c0tNZ3dUdGc&hl=pt_BR&authkey=CJHp3YUF

Some of the words are already in the Vocabulary (I updated just a few moments ago), which I took from the first relay. I tried to keep it as simple and correct as I could, but it would be good to have a revision.

I just updated the Vocabulary with the words from the first relay.

He introduces the "ni" (innanimate noun) classification, I put it on the Vocabulary as well.
Words such as dorvi  as ni. and dorv as n. I kept on the Vocabulary., but it may not be necessary.
David translates the word 'fini' as WH-word, but I'm not sure  what this means (what/which/who/whom etc?).

Well, what a great birthday present I will receive. The book release date It's just two days before my anniversary!

I saw a subtitle online that the saying for the random Dothraki is:
"Kash qoy qoyi thira disse"
Obviously, I can't  ensure this.

Quoting you from the other topic...

David also said that we will get lots more info when the Language Creation Conference comes around. They are allowed to release anything they want during talks/presentations so hopefully we will get lots of good info in a few weeks time.

These are HUGE news!  But, at least for me, it is a little impossible to cross the Atlantic... any of you guys will be able or are planning to check it out?

Who didn't expect that?   ;D

Well, it is actually happening right now. :)

One thing is certainly clear. It's going to be very difficult to get the correct words out of just listening to the dialogue.

Indeed, brotha. I was trying to listen and put the pieces together... my girlfriend was asking "what did they say?", but I went "well, I'm actually reading the subtitles just like you do"

Indeed, we're not that far apart. I also play a little bit with MATLAB (or, at least, with Octave, which is pretty much the same thing). Ingsve, do you work with signals and stuff?

I don't work with anything at the moment. I recently graduated and I'm currently unemployed. I've been doing some substitute teaching at some schools in town but otherwise I'm looking for a job. My speciality is more towards solar cells and power cells. My thesis work was done on polymer electrolytes for dye-sensitized solar cells.

This seems very interesting, really. I'm graduating in Computer Engineering, with emphasis in signals and systems,  and software engineering (pretty different sutff). Also, a little bit web development (programming, not designing); that's what I currently work with. Here at my unversity, there are some colleagues that collect data about solar exposure of some regions using microcontrolers to automate some movement.

Kudos, Ingsve, this is a great, great job.

Allative, acusative, ablative, dear lord... in Portuguese, such things have different names or don't even exist!

But, many thanks. Also, Say hi to Peterson :)

I think I'm the only not-into-conlanging-thing nerd around here... Most of you know 3 or 4 languages. My languages are not but programming languages.

You guys speak to people in Na'vi, Swedish, Italian, Latim, Hebrew, and possibly Klingon. I talk to computers in C, C#, C++, Java, JavaScript, PHP, and a little Ruby and Python. At least, it's something I know about and you guys don't. :P

Also, I suck at English, but I'm very good at Portuguese.

Well, I wouldn't call myself a conlanging-thing nerd either. Dothraki is the only conlang that I've gotten into. I have read a few languages in school by primarily I'm a science nerd so we're not that far apart I would say. I don't know any real programming languages though. I've only really programmed a little bit in MATLAB.
