M'ath eyak !

Where are a mistake in the vocabulary page : athmajizar means "sharing", not "turn".

And we can add a new word : majilat means "to share"

Dothraki Language Updates / Re: Dothraki words for the modern world
« on: September 27, 2016, 07:07:18 am »
It's just my opinion but I'm thinking these word must be more linked with more old word.

Ex : to cook = jolinat, so kitchen would be more like "jolinokre".

M'athchomaroon zhey Annabelle !

Do you need a other view of a fan ?

General Discussion / Translating the Song "Dragonborn" into Dothraki
« on: September 28, 2015, 05:05:00 am »
Hello everyone ! I try to translate the Skyrim song Dragonborn into Dothraki. This is my first work, I think there are some mistake and it's incomplete. (I ask @Dedalvs in this tweet for the translation of "to pray", and there is no word for it :/)

Dragonborn, Dragonborn, by his honor is sworn,
To keep evil forever at bay!
And the fiercest foes rout when they hear triumph's shout,
Dragonborn, for your blessing we pray!

   Zhavorsak(?), zhavorsak, allosha mra chomokh,
   Ahhezhahat meli ayyeyaan !
Ma dozgosi vervenanaz thimae affinaan mori charoe awaz najaheya,
   Zhavorsak, kisha zalaki azhasavva yeroon

Hearken now, sons of snow, to an age, long ago,
And the tale, boldly told, of the one!
Who was kin to both wyrm, and the races of man,
With a power to rival the sun!

   Charo valsheki ajjin, kashisoon foz,
   Ma (tale) ? ? ?
Fini me qoy zhavorsi, ma qoy mahrazhi,
   Ma athmovezar atthasay shekh !

And the voice, he did wield, on that glorious field,
When great Tamriel shuddered with war!
Mighty Thu'um, like a blade, cut through enemies all,
As the Dragonborn issued his roar!

Ma memgommi(?) fin me okhe ven hoyali vezhven,
Affinaan athvilajerar aqqov Tamriel lain !
Thu'um haj rissa dozgosoon ven az,
Affinaan Zhavorsak lavakhe(?) zor(?) mae !

Dragonborn, Dragonborn, by his honor is sworn,
To keep evil forever at bay!
And the fiercest foes rout when they hear triumph's shout,
Dragonborn, for your blessing we pray!

   Zhavorsak, zhavorsak, alloshe mra chomokh,
   Ahhezhahat meli ayyeyaan !
Ma dozgosi vervenanaz thimae affinaan mori charoe awaz najaheya,
   Zhavorsak, kisha zalaki azhasavva yeroon

And the Scrolls have foretold, of black wings in the cold,
That when brothers wage war come unfurled!
Alduin, Bane of Kings, ancient shadow unbound,
With a hunger to swallow the world!

Ma timviri movee assikhqoyi, felde kasga fisho,
Fini vitishera affinaan gaezo vilajeroe gaezo mori !
Alduin, jaqqa Khali, lei foz ma vaes,
   Garvoe adakhat sorfosor !

But a day, shall arise, when the dark dragon's lies,
Will be silenced forever and then!
Fair Skyrim will be free from foul Alduin's maw!
Dragonborn be the savior of men!

Vosma asshekh ajadoe, affinaan qosarvenikh zhavorsi kasga
   Vacchaki ayyeyaan ma !
Skyrim jili sandie ha hoska sorf haji Anduin !
   Zhavorsak vijazerok mahrazhi !

Dragonborn, Dragonborn, by his honor is sworn,
To keep evil forever at bay!
And the fiercest foes rout when they hear triumph's shout,
Dragonborn, for your blessing we pray!

   Zhavorsak, zhavorsak, allosha mra chomokh,
   Ahhezhahat meli ayyeyaan !
Ma dozgosi vervenanaz thimae affinaan mori charoe awaz najaheya,
   Zhavorsak, kisha zalaki azhasavva yeroon

Thank a lot for this explanation ! It's typically what I need !

But why "ahhajanat" ? The primitive word form is probably "hajat", so it don't become "ahhajat" ?

I'm training me to translate in Dothraki some sentence. I translate "That which doesn't kill us makes us stronger" by "Haz (vos) addrivo kisha, haja kisha", but I'm not sure of this. It's correct ?

What is the translation in dothraki for "The head of John" (Inalienable possession with firstname) ? We can't apply ablative case.

Thanks to Qvaak for the blog link : http://www.dothraki.com/2012/11/possession/

I understand more how that work, I will try to make a post with a lot of exemple in french/english for future beginners, if you can correct my work ^^

Exemples:

Alienable possession :
Ma chaise / My chair
Adori anni

Ta pomme / Your apple
Qazer yeri

Son épée / his|her blade
Az mae

Il embrasse sa femme / He kiss his wife
Me zoqwa chiorikem mae

Elle mange la pomme de Jenni / She eat the john's apple
Me adakha qazer haji Jenni

Inalienable possession :
La tête du Roi / The king's head
Nhare (Khaloon)

Les ailes de l'oiseau / The bird wings
Felde (ziroon)

Mon pied / My foot
Rhae (anhoon)

Les cheveux de la Khaleesi sont blancs / Khaleesi's hair is white
Noreth (Khaleesisoon) zasqa

Le bras de John est blessé / John's arm is wounded
Qora haji John zisa
