Beginners / Valyrian Partner
« on: May 03, 2015, 07:29:26 am »
Rytsas, tolvys!

Due to it being difficult to regularly practice conversing in High Valyrian (for obvious reasons!), I thought it would be a good idea to find a partner who I could practice it with, it could be either via email or something similar.
I'm quite a relaxed learner, I don't want anything too serious and taking the fun out of it, however I am a big fan of Game of Thrones and it would be great to have someone to learn the language with and share the fun of GoT with!

If anyone's interested, just reply here and I'll give you my email :-)

Could anyone tell me how you say 'it's' in High Valyrian? As in 'it's cold' or 'it's an iron sword'.

Beginners / Word Order in a Sentence
« on: September 19, 2014, 02:57:58 pm »
Hello all!

From what I understand, the word order in the High Valyrian language is SOV (Subject-Object-Verb), for example 'Sam oranges ate' instead of 'Sam ate oranges' as it would be in English.
Let's take for example 'the cat sat on the throne', the best I am able to work out as of the moment is 'Kēli dēmalion (verb, unsure of how to conjugate dēmagon)'. However I know I am leaving out words like 'the' and 'on the', however I understand that it will not be an exact translation, these words must fit into the sentence somehow.
If someone could explain this to me I really would appreciate it.

Beginners / Conjugating 'to have' - Emagon
« on: June 14, 2014, 01:10:23 pm »
Rytsas tolvys!

I was just wondering if anyone could possibly conjugate 'to have' (Emagon) in either the past or future tense for me in High Valyrian?
I was also wondering if anyone could tell me the structure of a High Valyrian sentence (noun first, verb first etc).

Thank you for any responses! :)

Rytsas tolvys!

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me the High Valyrian for some basic greetings/phrases like 'How are you?', 'I'm well' and anything else similar to this.
I'm trying to learn High Valyrian with my friends and these are a few phrases I couldn't work out.
